Did anyone else hear the extract from ‘Scheherazade’ this Sunday morning in the Suzi Klein programme, superbly performed by Arthur Rodzinksy and the Cleveland Orchestra? I have tried to find this recording on the net but so far failed. Does anyone know if this is still available as a CD (not a download which Naxos is offering)?

I can't find any evidence of it being available on CD at present, but you can download it for free from Internet Archive. On your recommendation I have just done so, and look forward to listening later. Thanks.

I have a lot, over the years of this conductor, so be interesting to hear of any recordings that are available?

I once read that he would not conduct the New York Phil. unless he was in possesion of a loaded revolver...

The New York Philharmonic were legendarily unkind to conductors, and probably still are. Here's a story about Rodzinski from Chambers Music Quotations:

[When Rodzinski asked the NYPO if they had any suggestions for improving the performance of a Mahler symphony]

"Yep. Send for Bruno Walter."
