Dunsinane is 'a sequel to Macbeth' - or, What happened next? "Macbeth is dead. Under cover of night, an English army has swept through the landscape, killed the tyrant and taken the seat of power."

David Greig's play was written for the RSC and premiered a year ago. Reviewed by The Telegraph and The Guardian.

Absolute cracker of a play, very finely acted. Anything with Siobhan Redmond in it is likely to be top class, but this was a terrific ensemble piece and gthe music stunning too. Tragic and sobering modern parallels not hard to find.

Indeed - very enjoyable. I was so glad David Greig didn't attempt a faux Shakespearian language, that would've been deadly.

Drama often leaves me cold, but this was utterly gripping.

Up to a point. A story well developed from the original - one that Shakespeare might have told. Echoes of Afghanistan with Gruach a kind of symbol of the continual regeneration of the fighters defending their land against the invaders, and the soldiers' eternal question, 'Why are we here?' Very well acted. Not sure why it didn't click with me.
