it ties in with RW's rhetoric that orchestral programming needs to be in advance of the tastes of the audience - expect more of the same over the remaining period of RW's tenure (after which I suspect there won't be much of R3 left)

We had old Rafferty on his kazoo on intune last week. I just shook my head and pressed the off switch. How much lower can R3 sink, its sounds like the sought of gimmick you get on local commercial stations.

I think you're right: this approach to Red Nose Day is all about attracting new audiences. If they were interested in doing a RND that was appealing to "us", they might do something more subtle, like a Flanders and Swann tribute concert or something.

They could sing "I'm a kazoo, a k-nother kazoo".
