Default I am changing the title of a thread

If you miss out a word in the title of a thread or the title seems too long and you want to change it, the edit function works but only to an extent. The title does not change both in the red lettering of the thread title and the black lettering in the initial post. I can't recall which one of the two doesn't change but it leads to inconsistency. Is there any way of resolving this problem?

Hold on - I'll see if I can work this one out.

    Haven't they both changed?

Incidentally, members can also edit the title of their threads provided they do it straight away, say if they notice a typo. I can't remember how many minutes they have - but I'll make it 10 (if I can find the setting).

Okay - I've actually changed it to 15 minutes, but this is what the instructions say:

"This setting is the number of minutes in which a user may edit the title of a thread that he starts, and have it apply to the thread listing screen (forumdisplay). After this time period, the change will only apply to the title shown in the first post of the thread. (Administrators and moderators with permission may always edit the title of the thread as shown on forumdisplay through the Edit Thread function.)"

frenchfrank - This one has worked. I had a problem though on Platform 3 with "Huge cuts to the World Service but another online survey from BBC Lab". It was a very long title and I tried to remove the word "online" but only one changed. (It looks like the last edit was over four hours on from the start of it - I think I had a nap in between) - Lat.

It could be because you only have Host permissions on the World Music forum. Otherwise, you have the 15 minutes everyone else gets. (I don't think I ever worked out how to change the subject title as a member)

OK thanks - It isn't a big problem. I just thought it might be helpful to flag it up.
