Default How restricted a view are we talking about?

Can RAH regulars please tell me what part of one's view is restricted in the Restricted View Circle seats? Having not sat in that area before, I'm having a hard time figuring out what part of the stage is obscured.

You're high up, and in one of the points of the horseshoe. So you can't see those parts of the orchestra on your side furthest from the conductor, or some of the choir (if there is one) in the Choir seats on your side. The RAH website has a virtual tour of the auditorium (keep tight hold of the mouse or it will make your head spin!) that may help a little, but it only shows the view from the centreline Circle seats, opposite the organ, not from the Restricted View seats furthest round on each side.

To add to that, I think it's mostly the canopy over the orchestra that causes the problem (don't know what it does to the sound balance)

Thank you both. I slept on the Last Night ticket sale, and the only ones left are the restricted view.

It's like being in a helicopter.
