Actually it is exactly the reverse... somehow thought as much globaltruth i miss your pointy head people drawings....aren't they a bit ray bradbury?

i don't like the sound of what happened to miss foley later on mind you ....before her disappearance. evidently, there are so many levels to read bradbury...but total disappearance isn't a good sign, not least as you don't get to know any more of whoever's missing.....

Mr. Dark is the Illustrated Man, covered in tattoos, and he pays attention only to Jim, who is enthralled by what he sees. Mr. Dark tells them to come back the next day and the boys run off but then hide and wait. What they see is unbelievable. Mr. Cooger rides backwards on the carousel (while the music plays backwards), and when he steps off of it, he is twelve years old.

and that's exactly what happened first to the dg, and then the entire staff, and trust at the beeb. ever since they have all been stuck at 12 yrs of age! the illustrated man has a jumble of beeb staff portraits tatooed in minature all over his skin..... inside and out.

i can't wait for the carnival to return, they'll all spin in the other direction, become 100 yrs old, a return to reithian standards of excellence at long last!

    there is hope afterall.

one of my all time faves...and not a million miles from ray bradbury themes ..round about 1.18.40 you can see beeb staff at their agm party:

thanks for that globaltruth, as mentioned in the comments below the article, perhaps 'not what rb might have wanted' as he apparently didn't actually like computers that much............. ? he preferred his type writer ...they are rather charismatic mind you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ug-eN...eature=related and very private in comparison....(until the point of publication of course)!

Only 45 minutes of Verity last night on LJ, but capped off a most enjoyable week of listening. I'm celebrating that the work's server has suddenly started allowing LA without so much as a by-your-leave.

...by the way I would heartily recomment the Ray Fisher track from last night's show, Bonny Birdy....took me a minute to get into it, but it was well worth it.

I was also planning to resurrect this thread - still catching up, so still anticipating last night; her shows are invariably quality gold medal winning performances...

    quality gold medal winning performances...

thanks for the reminder to la it.

although i have mosquito bites on my calves. a lovely summer evening outside last night, and i did listen to verity but was amongst friends, and there's nothing like listening on your own.

verity was cooking up a great mix... in the background.

In the tradition of impartiality should point out that other radio shows are available. But generally bronze medal level or less.

And that Repel stuff works against most tiny biters or, as a change, try Skin So Soft from Avon which mysteriously works. Apart from the Hebrides where they'll queue up to bite through your clothes...

Verity in totally cracking form last night. Such skill her team have in researching and editing, matched by her so, so welcome down beat presentation style.

I went back to have another listen to Wednesday's LJ. Introduced as being a little later than normal and then though on LA they started the show five minutes in even though the programmme was obviously recorded (no Maxy here). Why not just stick the whole recorded progamme on? Will we ever hear that five minutes - did Verity tell us something we needed to know, or did she waste her time on it - I assume we will never know. Och, I should just be grateful for LA and get on but it's difficult when it looks just like November out there.
