Wide dynamic range (not quite as wide as some CDs or 24-bit downloads) warm, spacious, crisp and clear. The Smetana was indeed performed with great fire and passion, and well-balanced by conductor and engineers too. Compared to dynamically restricted FM (on a Magnum Dynalab tuner, for heavens' sake!) it was streets ahead. I did find it thrilling as well as moving.
