      Yay! Go Jane!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

And his sobriety was probably Brahms

Nice shoot 'em up emoticon, Caliban

But beware! I am informed that there is an emoticon sneak in our midst and s/he has Akela's ear - and over-use may result in further censorship

A few people have expressed their thoughts on the Last Night thread: Msgs #41, #53, #70 and #78.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Mary Chambers has already summed up my views - "my least favourite pianist." I'm sure he has an excellent publicity team around him.

I posted the review below on the 10th September thread, but since it's highy complimentary about Lang Lang's performance, I thought I'd add it here as well.....

I don't know a lot about these things, but doesn't the fact that the piano was re-tuned during the interval indicate something about Lang Lang's heavy-handed playing style? Personally I'm in the Mary Chambers camp.

Can't we forgive and forget - for the sake of Auld Lang Lang's Syne?

Very good! Now, why didn't I think of that?
