‘Noah’s Ark of musical instruments’ said Donald Macleod of Concerto in C major RV.558 for 13 instruments and orchestra. Would any of the new breed of presenters ever come up with an expression as imaginative and apt as this?

A delightful end to a most enjoyable programme.

P.S. If Radio3 wants to ‘entertain’ its listeners, here is a perfect example.

DM's trailer for CoTW:Vivaldi makes the rather startling claim that in 1952 no one on the planet would have heard of him. Can this be true? (I missed the first programme where he may have elaborated on this.)

It's not true. I have a Pablo Casals 78rpm record where he plays a Vivaldi movement on one side. If really interested I will dig it out from the garage (if I can get to it)
