And thank you John for the treats in my in basket. Mrs GT introduced me to Blind Willie J's music a long time ago. I started off wondering why on Earth he was singing about the Titanic...deciphered those growled out lyrics, did a bit of pre Internet research and understood a bit more about this sometimes wicked world.

    As an aside...

Anyone care to suggest appropriate songs?

In my experience Global, the answer is almost always the Bonzos, in these circumstances.
    Can't decide between

    and

    in these circumstances.

    and '

    'appropriate'...............................?!

they're such great pictures globaltruth posts - there's nothing that i can add that make them any more powerful. in fact the reverse!

so it's a hard task .... but jc's choices are good, especially on a friday - the very finest day of the week, when 'grotesque girations' are welcomed!

Yes, really terrific pictures on several threads. I feel that we should bring PEDJ to a close shortly. 1300 or 1350 max? It has been extraordinary learning for me and has helped me to answer some long term questions. Inbox items and e-mails gratefully received. One day I will learn how to send them. Anyhow, this is the track of so many that is currently delighting me the most:

You're right there Lat. it is a great work, I find it oddly reassuring that there is still a fair old bit of anger and passion out there - condensed in this playlist. The show stopper track for me on there today was Ruby Hunter singing City Streets - an extraordinary voice, a wonderful setting. Thanks for posting.
I'm investigating the whole Aborigine Soul album as a result.
As for PEDJ, I think we should just close it when we have the next one...suggestions later

Yes, on second thoughts, perhaps it should go to 1500. It doesn't feel complete.

The loss of Ruby was very sad. Shellie Morris is a good ambassador for the Black Arm Movement. I would though like to see more of her personality in her songs.

Could the new playlist be music to listen to while working/studying/reading? Or is that a bit dull?

Just in case you fancy it...

Congrats Lat - you have virtually single handed, hit the double millennium - you deserve a gong - CDM perhaps might be appropriate.
