The area of music covered by last week's COTW has never been to my liking. To me most of that music was the aural equivalent of frilly knickers.
Sorry S_A, I've never found it that enticing, though I did used to quite like dancing to bits of Coppelia as a very young ballet pupil (my attendance at those lessons didn't last long).
Delibes may have been a cut above the others (beware the mixed metaphor!) so try his Missa Brevis from Thursday's programme and you may be pleasantly surprised.aural equivalent of frilly knickers.
The Hérold 2nd symphony (Monday) was worth a listening by any means IMO.
