It's been a wonderful 12 months or so for Louis Couperin's music, with Christophe Rousset's CDs on Aparté and Richard Egarr's Harmonia Mundi set. Completely understand what you say about the uncle, though both are magnificent composers of course .

It was our subcontrabass who sounded the warning in the first place.

I haven't checked each individual piece, but it does seem that today's playlist is correct - three pieces by François and two by Uncle Louis. I think all the other Louis attributions should be to François.

Yes - they have got Monday right. But not Tuesday. Or Wednesday. Or Thursday. Or Friday. Throughout they have "Louis" where it shd be "François" ...

…when the programme title clearly says François. We should demand an explanation. Not that that will make me feel any better.

That aside, Vinteuil, MickyD and John S. I see what you mean by Louis Couperin.

I'm gradually listening through these programmes on the iplayer and what a delight they are. It is like being back with the Radio 3 we once knew and loved.
