Default Coming soon - CE From Winchester...

    Dear All

I know that Draco will do a proper posting for you all but, don't forget that CE will be broadcast next Wed 18th Jan. The music is by Causton, Tavener Coll Reg, Dove and Messiaen, with Clucas Responses.

As always, if you are able to come and join us for the broadcast, we would be delighted to see you and there will always be a very warm welcome for you. You would need to be seated by 1515 latest.

If you can come, please make sure you come and say 'Hello' to me - any of the sidespeople would point you in my direction!
Failing that, listen in as always and join in with gusto where appropriate!

    Very best wishes. Liz

Shall only be able to join you over the airwaves, I'm afraid Lizzie. But I would love to have been introduced to Dave. Who he?

 Sorry...realise it's Dove...it's my eyesight! Pity the 'doh' icon has disappeared. I need it.

You actually had me worried there and I actually checked it! Did you see Winchester on Great British Railway Journeys tonight? Andy got Portillo clambering through some pipework as well as setting bum on the bench!

I've been watching this series Lizzie and saw the cathedral, organ and the choir snippet.

Actually, although Portillo disagreed with Bradshaw on this, I've always thought the cathedral is architecturally better inside than out - still a lovely building though. Looking forward to the broadcast.

I agree with you VCC. We often refer to it as The Grey Old Lady as an endearment but inside, it IS glorious. Salisbury has the edge when it comes to the exterior but I think Winchester does in terms of the interior. In October, I spent the night in the locked Cathedral during the Organathon and saw its beauty in a whole new, deeply moving and spiritual light. It was very very special and I'll never forget it. Wish you could come down for the broadcast. All the best. Liz
