Default Warlock/All the flowers/score help please

    Some help please.

On Saturday Classics yesterday Mr Heffer played Warlock's "All the flowers of the spring" for double choir, one of three "Dirges on Webster" - if I have that right. I would like to obtain a score of this and have been scouring the internet in vain to find one. I was wondering if a clever choir member could point me in the right direction or knows of the publisher.

    with thanks in advance.

Try Malcolm Rudland - he's back in London Jan17 - Feb 24th - and is the expert on all things Warlock (sec Warlock Society)

ah, thank you. that should have been my first port of call.

actually I think I've now tracked it down hidden in a volume of SATB - I'm sure it's for double choir though

    It isn't for double choir.

I don't want to derail this thread by going off-topic, but I was so taken with the Warlock yesterday, and the realisation that I have no knowledge of his work, so the question is whether all his choral pieces are like this rather than like lieder and if so, where is the best place to start as regards a cd? (I hope that makes sense)

They aren't all like that, but some are ("The full heart" is another drak and strange piece, for example). This is very good http://www.chandos.net/details06.asp?CNumber=CHAN 9182

The other 'must have' is Warlock : Chamber works and songs (2000) by the Nash Ensemble with John Mark Ainsley. Very much the essence of Warlock and well reviewed at the time. Hyperion CDA66938 (£12.00 on Amazon).
