Now that the guy has been released on bail I was astonished to learn what constitutes the 'rape/sexual assault' charges filed against him by the Swedish authorities. These appear to be based on complaints by two women, one who claims he had 'unprotected sex' with her when he previously promised he would wear a condom, and another who said he had sex with her while she was sleeping. Tariq Ali, a supporter, described the charges as 'flimsy'. Others might more accurately describe both as downright ridiculous.

Assange may or may not be an absolute bounder, but, as far as I'm concerned, much more remarkable than the Wikileaks revelations and the accompanying hysteria of the likes of Sarah Palin, is the apparent absurdity and gross unfairness of the obviously feminist-inspired nature of secular Swedish law in such matters.

    That's the way it seems.
