    Default Superb R3

Not sure if this is the best place to post, as I shall be in many cases preaching to the converted, but whatever...

I just thought that it would be nice, amidst all the carping and moaning that goes on elsewhere, to comment on the superb programming on Sunday. CE was varied, interesting and well done - I don't think many would disagree. But fair enough, it's not for everyone, because of the spiritual angle.

After that, though, came Aled with one of his best yet, in my view. The right balance, the right anount of info and some absolutely superb music of so many genres.

Then words and music, uninterrupted. Something for everyone, with my only slight criticism that we got on occasions bits of songs - the whole would have been better.

But all in all, what a delightful way to pass 4 hours or so. We should indeed be grateful for this. And then such things as the Early Music Show and PP at the weekend. And a CE repeat. Fortunate it is that we are, to be sure!

(If you didn't catch The Choir or Words and Music, I really do recommend you try the iplayer.)

bws to all and sincere thanks to the programme makers,

    S-S!

Simon. What a great post. Indeed we are lucky. I love Words and Music and did manage to catch this Sunday's, BUT (just to prove that carping is still a favourite sport on The Forum) it is a huge disappointment that it was moved from its late night slot. Not only is it now at a time when (in our household at least) it is impossible to hear it in peace, but somehow the whole character of the show (slightly wacky, subtly humorous, often poignant...plus the innocent ear thing) seems more suited to a late hour when perhaps the mind is in more meditative mode.

So if we could sort out Breakfast, shift any BCs from Sunday Morning and get rid of tired old private Passions, then sundays would be great again!

Yes, I think I'd agree, ardcarp. It would be good to have it on at, or repeated at, a later hour, I think.

But half a loaf is better than no bread, innit?

So you were but I still think its tired old formula of celebs choosing BCs is past its sell-by date, a personal opinion, not universally supported I'll agree!

    iplayer?
Yes, but.....it's a prog I like to listen to in bed, my netbook has c**p speakers, and Mrs Ardcarp finds the wearing of headphones in bed to be in poor taste.
