I thought part 2 last night was really interesting. Filmed in London with Mr.Smith visiting lots of places and showing gorgeous Liberty designs, amongst other goodies.
I agree; an excellent programme. I was particularly impressed by Mary Macdonald's Silver Apples of the Moon and the links between the Glasgow School and Vienna.
(AND the silks archivist at Liberty's managed to get Mr Smith to pronounce "Art Nouveau" correctly for the only time so far in the series!)
'Travestied' is the word I think you are looking for, not 'reproduced'. However often his wonderful watercolours of flowers & plants are reproduced they are never nauseam

I'm slightly ashamed of my big round biscuit barrel showing Seurat's 'Sunday Afternoon on the Isle of the Grande Jatte', although it is beautifully represented with very subtle colouring. But still....
oh dear, this should have had a link to #20 from Chris Newman but something has gone wrong.![]()
as the French wiki says - "Le terme français « Art nouveau » s’est imposé en Grande-Bretagne, en même temps que l’anglomanie en France a répandu la forme « Modern Style» au début du XXe siècle."
