Some right old warbling going on at the moment. Where do they get these sopranos from?

an amusing last few minutes, with the soprano soloists rather adrift, perhaps they couldn't see the conductor. every performance of this work must be a logistical nightmare. I didn't really like his choice of tempi - perhaps the outdoor conditions played a big part.

Sorry, which performance are we talking about here? The 2007 CD was recorded in the Berlin Jesus Christus Kirche. Not outdoors as far as I know. Is there a DVD of a different performance?

I was talking (and assumed the OP was) about the one on Afternoon on 3 this afternoon. I'm sure the announcer said it was outside, on the edge of a forest near Berlin I think she said. Perhaps I misheard. Couldn't tell you when it dates from.

EDIT - just listened again - Waldbuhne, Forest Theatre
