Thanks Flosshilde! That's at least two of us on these boards who know the queen's correct name.

While we're on the subject, let's remember that the bloke who Authorised the Bible Version published in 1611 is correctly entitled James VI and I.

    In that order.

how joining in the "Jubilee Celebrations " could in any way at all be considered to be enjoyment is way beyond my understanding.
well unless, like the Bahrain king(or whatever he is) you get a badly needed free feed, in which case it might be worth showing up.
    And as for the concert............

Default Royals - are they fit for purpose? And what would be their purpose?

In this age of enlightenment surely we need to get rid of these royal parasites? They only got their wealth and power by bumping off everyone else in sight at the time. As well as that, this present lot are just a load of Crouts are they not? The queen may know the back end of a horse, but that's about it.

Come on, Ams, be fair, there must be very few things less numerous and more weird than a UK republican ... and, no, one doesn't need to take advice but it often helps one if one occasionally does ... and from some rather more informed sources, of course.

For the third (and final) time scotty, if you don't allow the argument to be presented in an adult way, people will inevitably prefer the status quo - bit like religion and freethinking really

When the polls tell Jack Straw that he is wrong, he just says that the poll is wrong.
Well I strongly suspect that the popular polls tell far from the whole truth.
Most people I meet want the monarchy gone when the queen is no more.
Look at this board. A tiny vox pop, maybe, but quite telling.A pretty strong "anti" lobby.
Trouble is, getting rid of them is just the start of a very long job.....

    The 'final'? ... we wish!

Contrary to all the available evidence, and ignoring your very own and wholly irrelevant smokescreens, do you really consider yourself more 'adult' than 80% of the British populace of voting age, Amsey? ...

I live in a society where people with a strong belief in the supernatural, a modest minority in practical terms but who indoctrinate children with their tales and values, command a disproportionate influence so I do understand how it is that we live in an infantilised society, yes scotty
