Yes the NR No 1.... I rather like it. But it was preceded by Moeran's Lonely Waters and William Byrd's Domine, secundum actum meum the latter being particularly gorgeous and AMcG's 'request' (I think I caught from the bathroom).

Are you able to reply to mw963 and corroborate or otherwise my faltering attempt to assist?

I think you have to be very very careful when installing iTunes, because, as I understand it, if you don't watch it the software will 'organize' your music library, i.e. overwrite all the tags on any MP3 files you may have. I did this once years ago and didn't want to repeat the experience. Can anyone confirm whether this is still the case, please, as the radio streaming sounds rather attractive, and I might try again with iTunes IF I knew of a cast-iron way of avoiding the overwriting business?

Hello again, sounds as though MW963 is well on the way to listening to classical music on iTunes now.

Re pronunciation, we have some UK/Italian family living in Italy, including Giovanni, now 21. Whenever the BBC presenters announce that we shall be listening to Don Geovarrni we flinch! I'm sure that when I was young, some time ago now, the BBC had a department purely to deal with pronunciation, no more by the sounds of everything.

Fair enough - agreed that lapses occur everywhere - especially when it comes to Reg Varney's brother G. O. Varney !

Well I've downloaded the necessary software and am about to install it, but paying particular attention (as I feared and as JFLL confirms) that it doesn't then scurry round my computer *****ing up all my settings. It is quite beyond me why all these programs want "control" of everything, I thought I myself was a control-freak but honestly.....

Tiny bit laters - my goodness it takes a long time to install. For something that just is required to play the radio it appears to be extremely bloated!!

Right, my computer has slowed to a complete crawl, iTunes doesn't load or work (in spite of saying it's installed correctly) and it's coming straight off again.

    Stick to satellite folks.

BE WARNED - this software is large and - certainly in my bitter experience - likely to cause problems. Hard disk grinding away the whole time, programs hanging.

Just hope I can remove it without causing further problems

I'm so sorry to have been instrumental in ruining your afternoon, though I'm inclined to blame Bill Gates more...

Well it's not your fault Caliban.

But I would not wish the last hour on my worst enemy. I have only just got my computer working again, I finally (after switching it off and on again) got to the Remove Program list, but there was still something HORRIBLY wrong as everything was going at a snail's pace. However, after about seven minutes it said it had removed iTunes and invited me to restart and I seem to be back in business.

BUT I WILL NEVER EVER NOW TOUCH AN APPLE PRODUCT. My computer ran nicely - or at least did til an hour ago - I've never had anything as bad as this happen.

And I now discover I've missed half of Canterbury Cathedral as a result.

Caliban - I stress that this is NOT aimed at you. You've been nothing but helpful. There must just be something on my computer that conflicts (Adobe Audition? Sony Sonic Stage? Midi Organ software? I just don't know).

    Never again!!

It looks as if JanH also managed the download successfully.

iTunes is 290MB on my computer, so it is a bit of a giant.
