Indeed a big loss to the music scene. He played in loads of different contexts and brought something unique to them. I'd recommend Miller's Tale with Steve Miller, Tony Moore and Eddie Prevost.
Saw him live a couple of times and I think he also acted on the telly from time to time. This is a sad loss, indeed.
RIP - I guess Stuart Maconie will play one of his solo pieces

I'm with you there amateur51 - I had heard his name a lot more than any of his material, but have been really enjoying the musings about Lol (particularly SA's memories) - also enjoying the pieces which paint a picture of an ordinary guy with a great creativity. I loved the Walrus version - reminded me of the family singing it in the car where the kids loved to sing knickers and bloody really loud.![]()
