    Default Failed Login Notifications

This morning I have received two (automated?) emails from the "The Radio 3 Forum" advising of failed attempts to login to my account here using incorrect passwords. The emails also advised that the IP addresses from which such attempts were made were 76.73.53.117 and 174.36.199.200. Can anyone here throw any light on what is going on?

    Nope. But you're the second.

How did you get in eventually?

I was never logged out, frenchie. Indeed, when I openned an additional tab and navigated to http://www.for3.org/forums/index.php, there was no problem.

There appear to be several log-in attempts going on at the moment. I'm not sure whether they're bots or members. I can say that neither of the IP addresses matches any other member. I'll keep a watch on this.

Both IPs are based in the US.

The first: Woodstock, Illinois (ISP: FDCservers.net)
The second: Dallas, Texas (ISP: SoftLayer Technologies, bludev.co.uk, Host: anonymizer2.torservers.net)

    Very odd.

174.36.199.200 is in use by spambots. You can search for it here. If you've a good password there's no problem. It's pure luck it hit on "Bryn" so there's no need to worry.

http://174.36.199.200/ is a Tor exit router:

Tor sees use by many important segments of the population, including whistle blowers, journalists, Chinese dissidents skirting the Great Firewall and oppressive censorship, abuse victims, stalker targets, the US military, and law enforcement, just to name a few.

I think the Tor ones we're seeing here are mainly spambots as there frequently seem to be several attempting to log in and getting the error message because they're not registered users.
