No need to apologise. That is how you feel about the performance and your view is surely a valid one.

I would be interested in more explanation of why you found it 'limp'. Was this in terms of interpretation, orchestral playing, choral singing, or the contributions of the soloists for example? I haven't listened to the broadcast yet but will try to do so tomorrow.

It would be interesting to know how your three listens (?) compare as an aural experience . I’m pretty sure you’ll hear more Orchestral detail in the recording that’s for sure but the surroundings are such a huge part of the whole experience it’s almost impossible to compare the two in their totality. One reason I prefer live though I tend to avoid entirely orchestral works performed in a large very reverberant space like a cathedral.
