Fantastic! Please let us know your opinions. My copies arrived on Saturday, (one is a Christmas present), but I’m doing overtime at work so it’s going to be a couple of weeks until I can hear them properly.Originally posted by Barbirollians View PostMy copy has arrived today - a rather punchy note by Tully Potter dismissing her suggestion she was born in 1928 . Unfortunately, however, no discussion of any of the performances except the Elgar ‘s timings being briefly mentioned.

He wrote many scathing reviews in The Strad magazine back in the 1980’s & 90’s. Yes, he is extremely knowledgeable but there’s an edge of unpleasantness about some of his writing.Originally posted by smittims View PostI've had an on-off relationship with Tully Potter's wrings. I don't agree with him but I see his frustration with reviewers who seem to treat Menuhin as if he was finished after the war .

I must get round to listening to these recordings - rave review from Rob Cowan today about the Elgar and Britten and good about the Sibelius and BrahmsOriginally posted by pastoralguy View Post

He went so far as to say this live Haendel/Boult Elgar would now be his top recommendation for a stereo version .
