Aaron Gottschalk or Louis Moreau Copland?

Since the Bax/Arnold sixth symphony fiasco I've not been surprised by anything I heard on Radio 3, so I didn't even raise an eyebrow when episode four of Aaron Copland was replaced by an episode of Gottschalk without any explanation. Maybe Donald MacLeod was so engrossed inhis knobs and knockers that he didn't notice the diffreerence between the two composers. At any rate the missing episode of Copland will be on Monday and the remaining four episodes of Gottschalk will be on Tuesday thru Friday (unless,of course ,one of them is mysteriously replaced by another composer)

I didn't know about the rescheduling.
Not Donald's fault at all, I'm sure.
Someone simply played the wrong tape or whatever.
If it was spotted, then perhaps a decision was made to continue rather than try to swap mid-programne.
As she took over for In Tune, Katie simply said that the missing episode was available on Sounds.

I see Katie Derham as a female Alan Partridge but without the irony.

Underwhelmed by the Copland on theRadio 3 CofW today. The music was unfamiliar but most keft me cold. A proficient composer but i did not feel he was particularly great. Workmanlike.

Aaron Copland suffered from dementia in his latter years. It is an unpredictable disease. He found he could no longer composer longer compose but rejoiced to discover that he could conduct his scoreswith facility. Sometimes, I do wonder whether some of his later scores lack cogency because he was already suffering from early symotoms of dementia.
