    Little mention thus far of Berio's composing contemporaries - Maderna excepted - such as Evangelisti, Clementi and Turchi; not even Nono, his closest associate stylistically during the crucial integral serialist stage, as well as politically in tune. Or at least their differences if any should have been covered? - pretty important stuff if Berio and his associates are to have any meaning for us today, rather than being merely of historical interest, as primarily implied throughout in the tone in Kate Molleson's commentary.

      It seems his association with Cathy Berberian overshadows most other things in the popular view.

        Indeed. Am I alone in detecting something of a glibness in Ms Molleson's presentation of this programme?

          I have a feeling that, despite Kate's compendious knowledge of serialist composers, her own musical tastes are a little more basic.
