I used to wonder why some monthly magazines appeared weeks before their published date until it was explained to me that if they all appeared, say , on the first day of the month the newsagents' shelves would be overloaded and then progressively empty over the next four weeks .

    Correct.

One page of "The 12 Shows of Christmas" in the latest Christmas Issue.

More likely to be the January issue!

Totally agree - it's a mess in both preparation and making. It's why I try never to look too far ahead when posting CE stuff

I'm pretty sure that this happened last year but still can't lay hands on my copy from then and it may well have gone off for recycling.

I can't remember from last year (and similarly do not have copies to hand) - does the forthcoming Christmas issue also include listings? [If so these may perhaps be more informative]

Yes utterly useless, even the TV listing mention is something that’s been there for over a year. No Advent Carols from St John’s either.

The amount of information we get of Radio 3 listings in BBC MM has sharply deteriorated in recent months, enough, in fact, to make them next to useless

I've got a feeling that they did the same last year or year before to the KCC repeat but don't have my copies easily to hand so might be mistaken.

I imagine a simple unthinking copy and paste job has been done in the listings (though we do have Clive Myrie at Christmas earlier in the day): Sunday 24 December at 3 says Choral Evensong, and on Monday 25 December, when we'd expect the R3 repeat of the Nine Lessons and Carols from R4 on Christmas Eve, we have Afternoon Concert from 2 to 4:30!
