No, but their website says:

There have been a number of Ash Wednesday broadcasts from other places in recent years. I recall for example St Alban's Cathedral and a rather eccentric interpretation of Allegri's Miserere from New College Oxford.

I wonder whether it is to avoid two broadcasts from St John's in the space of a few weeks, if they are also broadcasting a Passiontide service on the BBC as they often do.

I don't think there's any 'deeper' meaning to it: is it not just the case that—unlike the Advent Sunday and Christmas Eve ‘specials’ respectively from John’s and King’s—the Ash Wednesday broadcast is fixed at John’s only every other year and moves around on the ‘off’ years?

Very nice - but to be fair, listening just now via Sounds, I think the phrase actually used (though not very clearly enunciated) was "prominently located".

Guildford did a splendid job, however the total amount of wrong stresses in MacMillan's Miserere is quite embarassing for a composer regarded as one of the finest in the country.
