Having posted the link to the online image re-sizer I've found that the image upload widget on the "reply-with-quote" tab now has one built-in, making the online one redundant ! 🙈

Fair comment, and I pointed it out partly as a difference between the old and new sites.Originally posted by Dave2002 View PostI might ask "why do you need [want] to know?"
If that's not shown next to a post, my guess is that if you really want to find out you can look at the user's profile.
That said, it is sometimes useful to know where a poster is situated (e.g., on the Stormy weather thread) and to be able to spot and therefore welcome a new/recent member.

That's odd/anomalous. When I click on 'french frank' it goes to my profile, and when I click on 'reply' it goes to the homepage. I think something should go to my earlier post.Originally posted by Andrew Slater View PostIt certainly was unintentional - not sure what I did. I'm not sure about that. Is there a difference between a comment and a reply? I replied to Maclintick (me yesterday 12.31 and wouldn't it be nice to give a direct link?Originally posted by Andrew Slater View Post

Yes, it does go to my profile but the post you're replying to is there under Activities so it's not just you. It's the new user-friendly vBulletin 5. I really think that the developers are just not 'users' in the way we are so don't appreciate what we find useful. It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. I don't think I can have posted an image since vB5. The form looks much more complicated so I'll leave most things blank.Originally posted by Maclintick View PostHaving posted the link to the online image re-sizer I've found that the image upload widget on the "reply-with-quote" tab now has one built-in, making the online one redundant ! 🙈
Well that was easy - I just posted the url, aligned left and halved the width which resized proportionately. This is the late Sir H. Beerbohm Tree as King John in King John by W. Shakespeare:

Up top right, go to your User Settings under the dropdown by your username. Choose the Account tab, scroll down to Conversation Detail Options/Display Modes and select Latest Activity (not Posts). Once you post you may have to refresh the page to see your reply at the top (and there is a tendency to zoom you back down to the botton again once you've had a brief glimpse of your post at the top.Originally posted by Lordgeous View PostOn some sites the most recent comments appear at the top of a thread. I think I prefer that but what do others think. Is it easy to change or could user control be enabled? A small point I know in the general scheme of things.
All in all - no problem then

I've just tried that but couldn't "Save changes" because it seemed to have got itself in a muddle over email addresses, wanting me to enter my new address. I don't have a new address, and have no wish to possibly precipitate further complications by entering my existing one. Perhaps if it hadn't, for reasons best known to itself, pre-filled the box with my user name it wouldn't have a problem...Originally posted by french frank View Post

Petrushka had that problem too, it seems. My username isn't filled in. All I had to do was check the display mode and if necessary choose the Latest Activity radio button instead of Posts. The first item already filled in was Enable Private Messaging [box checked].Originally posted by oddoneout View Post

Sincere apologies if these two queries have already been answered - but what does the warning emoji âš an orange triangle containing an exclamation mark on the far right of the topic title mean?
The Anomalies (aka this) thread seems to be the only one with a black tick ☑ as well as an orange triangle.
Is that to show that all outstanding items have been answered?

It's been mentioned already but I'm sorry I've lost the will to hunt for it at the moment, but I've had a problem with being logged out while I was in the process of writing a post. Yes it was taking me a while, as it sometimes does, to get down what I wanted to say, but if I'm actually pressing keys during a given period then that should signal that I am actually still active even if I've been in one place for longer than the permitted time. My first reaction on getting the password command as a response to clicking "post reply" was that I would lose the text I had spent time creating while I tried to remember the password, but luckily the login button decided, after I risked that route, that it had remembered it after all and the post went through.

just googled it on the Vbulletin forum and I think it means unanswered/unapproved posts. I'll assume that is correct so no need for anyone to reply...Originally posted by Globaltruth View PostSincere apologies if these two queries have already been answered - but what does the warning emoji âš an orange triangle containing an exclamation mark on the far right of the topic title mean?

and a tick is just a tick...
UPDATE
Seems a right old pain to get rid of it... Vbulletin forum says:
I ran several maintenance tools (rebuild topic/forum information, remove orphaned topics/posts etc.). I didn't do this to specifically fix the above issue, but as it turned out it also removed the yellow triangle.

Both answered
Not fully understood, as hovering over the icon suggests that there are 'unapproved posts' but there are no unapproved posts flagged in the ACP.Originally posted by Globaltruth View PostSincere apologies if these two queries have already been answered - but what does the warning emoji âš an orange triangle containing an exclamation mark on the far right of the topic title mean?
Seems to have been an inadvertent action by Technical Engineer No 1. In theory it's a facility to indicate that a query which is the sole subject of a thread has been resolved/answered. But this isn't that kind of thread.Originally posted by Globaltruth View PostThe Anomalies (aka this) thread seems to be the only one with a black tick ☑ as well as an orange triangle.
