Which reminds me, many years ago the chap who rented the allotment next to mine liked to listen to the radio while he was working and had made a little stand to put his wireless on. A combination of having defective hearing(damaged at work) and not bothering to move the radio as he worked on different parts of the plot meant that I had little choice but to hear a great deal of local radio and assorted 'easy listening'.

A smaller, but still significant, number are no more than walking zombies. No wonder people don't mind the current 'tune in/tune out' Radio 3 programming.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

The ‘Advanced Search’ function on the current Forum platform is pretty flawed…
In order to add my recent post on the “Alexander Malofeev” thread, which I knew existed (but not on which board or how long ago), I put the two words Alexander & Malofeev in the search box (with & without inverted commas), ticked ‘title only’ … and got zero results…
Using just “Alexander” as a search term produced multiple pages of results… trawling through which led me to the right thread.
Very odd that instead of refining the search, adding “Malofeev” seems to have fused its little search brain/algorithm/whatever"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Takes me forever sometimes (e.g., YouTube videos with score).
But in this instance, on my iPad, I just typed Alexander Malofeev in the Search box top right (so no need to go Advanced) and the thread appeared as the second hit, just under your new Anomalies post.

I’ve had the impression in the past that the search function was deficient (perhaps erratic is a better word) but hadn’t really focused on it, and thought it might have been my ineptitude. The ‘Malofeev’ incident seemed like evidence that it wasn’t my fault. (Maybe it doesn’t like iPhones)"...the isle is full of noises,

The forum apparently blocked my IP address while I was in Germany. I seemed to be able to access any other sites.
I was using both 4/5G and a domestic internet connection.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
I am not a number, I am a free man.

The "Malofeev Incident" sounds like a new Holmes story - possibly involving a giant capybara?
