Ah, but I don't use What'sNew? I just go into the various sub-forums and expect the threads with new posts since my last visit to show up in bold, but that doesn't necessarily seem to be the case.

I meant it is actually set to a 30-min time limit. May not apply to someone who started a thread, perhaps.Originally posted by Pulcinella View Post
That can't be true, as I can go into the original post on a BaL thread (but because I posted it?) to add the recommended version way longer than after 30 minutes!

. There is a pause of 8 minutes after which a Last Edited By note displays below an edited post.

But I think that there will be a time stamp associated even if you don't give a reason for the edit.Originally posted by Serial_Apologist View PostPossibly there is diminishing likelihood of posts being amended the further back one goes into the past. All that said, I am pretty sure I have gone way back in time and edited posts I have since realised to contain errors.
It's known as changing history!

It won't appear as a new post though.
For example, when I add the Recommended version details to the original post in a BaL thread I give the reason in the edit field but the post stays as the first post on the thread.
(This might not be quite what you're wondering about!)

I think by default the threads of What'sNew? are sorted by the date of the Last Update. I can see 4 pages of these with 15 threads per page dating back one week to 7July. But if you don't look in for several weeks I don't think you'll see all the threads updated since your last visit.

Viewing new threads since last visit
It's probably the best part of a couple of months since my last visit, yet the only threads I am seeing which appear to have new content since then are ones updated in the past week or so. Does this happen frequently? I'm guessing that not much can be done about it?Tags: None
