    Ah, but I don't use What'sNew? I just go into the various sub-forums and expect the threads with new posts since my last visit to show up in bold, but that doesn't necessarily seem to be the case.

    I think you can go back a month with this link.

    (I changed "lastWeek" to "lastMonth" in the "What's New?" main link. I think the forum might be American, it doesn't recognise Fortnight ).

    I meant it is actually set to a 30-min time limit. May not apply to someone who started a thread, perhaps.

    That can't be true, as I can go into the original post on a BaL thread (but because I posted it?) to add the recommended version way longer than after 30 minutes!

    There is actually a time limit of 30 minutes after which it ought to be impossible to edit a post at all - precisely to prevent history being rewritten. Don't think it works 100% though . There is a pause of 8 minutes after which a Last Edited By note displays below an edited post.

    But I think that there will be a time stamp associated even if you don't give a reason for the edit.
    It won't appear as a new post though.
    For example, when I add the Recommended version details to the original post in a BaL thread I give the reason in the edit field but the post stays as the first post on the thread.
    (This might not be quite what you're wondering about!)

    Viewing new threads since last visit

    It's probably the best part of a couple of months since my last visit, yet the only threads I am seeing which appear to have new content since then are ones updated in the past week or so. Does this happen frequently? I'm guessing that not much can be done about it?
