You can't upload your own images directly on to the forum. You have to find a hosting site which generates a code to provide a link. The image will appear in your post but is actually linking to the site where the image was originally uploaded. Photobucket used to be the go-to but banned linking to third sites so most people use imgur. Uploading the images to the forum would create bandwidth problems for us.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Here are some old instructions (originally for RW to upload a baryton photo) - apologies for making it look complicated, it really isn't!Originally posted by LMcD View PostCan anybody tell me whether, and if so how, I can upload scanned documents from a desktop so that I can include them in a post - thank you!
.... The forum needs a link (URL) to a hosted image.
I'm using IMGBB to upload photos - it's free and will keep them online for you (or be deleted after a time).
Go to their website, https://imgbb.com/, click on "Start Uploading", tell it which image you want to upload... finally choose "BBcode fully linked" and copy the URL which you can paste directly in to your forum post.
The BBcode (Bulletin board code) will look something like this:
Or, you can use the insert "Image" buttonCode:[url=https://imgbb.com/][img]https://i.ibb.co/BTWnJbq/2024-06-13-Image.png[/img][/url]
if you just want to use the URL for the image from their BBcode, it looks something like this:
Code:https://i.ibb.co/BTWnJbq/2024-06-13-Image.png

I think the above instructions for the IMGBB AuntDaisy provided were originally for me, and proved very easy to use.
Free image hosting and sharing service, upload pictures, photo host. Offers integration solutions for uploading images to forums.
I just keep the site in my bookmarks and open it when needed.
