    The musicians are in an appalling situation, but I can't at this moment see what positive outcome a strike might achieve. I would be happy to be proved wrong.

    I wonder if they've reached a point of perhaps having nothing to lose since the new arrangements mean inadequate livelihoods, and they need to draw attention to the situation.
