I can never hear the name Locatelli without thinking of university finals. There was a 'techniques' paper which said [words to the effect of] Complete this extract from a trio sonata by Locatelli. I was not the only one in the hall thinking 'Who the **** is Locatelli?' because in those days awareness of the lesser lights of the Baroque was not great. Corelli? Yep, heard of him, but Locatelli? Nah. Anyway, I think most of us assumed it was like Handel and got away with it. Just.
