Monteverdi's Vespers from the Utrecht Early Music Festival

I'm glad I had the chance to hear it but I'll stick with the more usual versions thank you... I didn't hate it but neither did it engage my interest particularly, such that even though I missed the first 30 minutes or so it seemed to go on rather. I agree with Pulcinella about visual disadvantage - one of those "need to be there" concerts perhaps.

Among my various recordings, I find the Higginbottom/New College Oxford one very easy on the ear without any gimmicks. All-male voices, too.
