    Desperately Seeking...

I thought it might be nice to use this portal to post particular CDs we are seeking, on the off chance that forum members either have the disc and might be up for an exchange, or might have seen it on their wanderings along ye olde Internet Superhighway.

Here's one that I'm after. Mozart: Idomeneo, Karl Bohm/Dresden Staatskapelle Dresden. I'm looking for it on CD. An Amazon seller has it for a hefty £32. It's available as a download, but I have yet to embark on downloading music.

    Bit cheaper here: http://www.arkivmusic.com/classical/...album_id=57504

    Just under £25?

Thanks for starting this thread, Thropplenoggin.

I've been seeking this CD for a while:

J.S Bach: Capriccio BWV 992, Aria variata alla maniera italiana BWV 989. Kenneth Gilbert. ARCHIV 437 555-2

It's a deleted issue and I haven't been able to find it second hand. Does anyone here have a copy for sale?

      Thanks.

Dunno, Thropps. I haven't used Archiv but thought they were kosher. What's an inlay?

Inlays are what dealers call the paperwork that comes with the discs and jewel case...ie booklets/libretti etc.

Ah, thanks, I imagined so. Not being a dealer I would just say liner notes - or in this case perhaps libretto.

So you want an inlay for your (reduced) outlay?

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I have this issue which includes the 12th symphony, 1st cello concerto and eight preludes op34 (which may or may not be bonuses according to circumstances), and comes in a few pounds cheaper.
