    Agreed, with a minor caveat ( see my post #59). I enoyed this BAL, as usual when Lucy Parham is the guest, & have no quibbles about the "winner", but wish that a nod had been given to period performance versions such as this. IIRC, Brautigam may have been mentioned as a safe HIPP choice, but Pashchenko's Beethoven CD is exceptional.

      They did not research thoroughly on the Daniel Barenboim front: two cycles only, she thought, and one for TV, and A McG implied at one point that B. had done two for DG. I think it is about three for EMI/Warner (one on DVD), plus the one on DG. I liked what I heard. The EMI Les Adieux is imprinted on my brain, from when I was in late teens, and didn't have many LPs!
