I love it for Schreier's idiosyncratic 'Dyin-k, dyin-k, dyin--k', so for that reason alone it will not survive long in the choosing

We have the thorny question of availability again, maybe, but surely consideration must be given to Pears/Brain/Britten (with the Boyd Neel Orchestra, 1944).

It has been on CDs from Decca (available from some Amazon vendors for about £23 new, £10 s/h) and Pearl.

I don't think the "Hirst, Kuyper, Klein" version is available in the UK, but I've added the other suggestions to the list.

Incidentally, is Peter Damm as wobbly as he is on his concerto recordings?
