Shouldn't they be included in the top ten sopranos?

Well, I'm not quite sure what you mean but there are stories that if the surgical operation was limited to removal or destruction of the testicles, their sexual performance wasn't as insignificant as one naturally assumes! And with no risk of conception they were allegedly very popular with quite a number of the ladies
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

                        No Robin Blaze?

Michael Chance is singing Orfeo in Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice at the Buxton Festival this year.

Robin Blaze...I confess he didn't come to mind, but I did concoct the list very hastily. They are mostly singers I have heard live.

Do people on this forum really not have favourite countertenors?

I mentioned Paul Esswood on the "Contralto" Thread. I'd add Andreas Scholl & Iestyn.

                              That is brilliant!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
