Weinberg influencing DSCH maybe Roehre ?
    Must investigate Meyer too.
    Certainly possible, ER.
There is a weird coincidence between Schnittke's pre-first Symphony and DSCH's Cello concerto no.1 too.
Hence, an external influence by pupils' works is certainly a possibillity.

I've just returned from Budapest where a friend had asked me to purchase some out of print Hungaraton CDs. (Mainly Kodaly and Liszt). He also asked me to check out the price of the Annie Fischer Beethoven piano cycle which, as it was cheaper in Budapest, I also purchased. We listened to some of it last night and it's wonderful. Sounds like it's been re-mastered.

        Superb music making.

Re Krzysztof Meyer, listened to the 9th string quartet this morning, amazing music.
Could be the start of another expensive obsession , and I blame you for the suggestion

The new Smetana and Janacek quartet disc from the Takas Quartet on Hyperion. It's very good indeed although I don't think they hit the heights set by the Paavel Haas Quartet in the Smetana.

Pavel Haas' 2nd & 3rd string quartets. Part of Decca's 'Entartete' series played by the Hawthorne Quartet. Very interesting music.
