Anyone know why only excerpts of Rattle's Agon seem to have been released?

      Prague RSO/ Ivanovic.

Me and Beefy have been banging on about this new recording of his symphonies for ages.
With such stellar recommendations, duly ordered - cheap - from mes amis at Clic Musique. Looking forward to hearing the symphonies very much - sounds like a sort of Czech Ruud Langaard with a bit of Per Nørgård chucked in for good measure.

            Gustav Mahler
            Symphony No.1 in D major.
Symphony No.2 in C minor, "Resurrection".
London Symphony Orchestra & Chorus(John Alldis - chorus master)
            Sir Georg Solti.

Going through this, (yes, MrsBBM bought me this CD!!!) This surely has to be one of the best recordings of Mahler available? Might check out No.3.

Ernest Chausson. Concert for Violin, Piano and String Quartet. Op.21

              Itzhak Perlman, violin.

              Jorge Bolet, piano.

              The Juilliard String Quartet.

Long, long time since I listened to this cd. I seem to recall I found it in an Oxfam shop in London a long time ago.

Franck. Violin Sonata arr for flute by James Galway. Prokofiev. Flute Sonata in D.

                James Galway, flute.

                Martha Argerich, piano.

I bought this cd for Mrs. PG who is a big Galway fan. When he had his bad accident all those years ago she made him a 'Get Well' card and was sent a couple of T-Shirts and a charming note by his agent, Michael Emerson.

                    Bernstein
Symphony 1, Jeremiah (Jennifer Johnson Cano, mezzo)
Symphony 2, The Age of Anxiety (Jean-Yves Thibaudet, piano)

                    Baltimore Symphony Orchestra/Marin Alsop

Bought today, prompted by an email from the local Picturehouse cinema about the new season of ROH Live transmissions, including a Royal Ballet triple bill Bernstein Centenary programme with a revival of The Age of Anxiety, which was one of the best things I've ever seen there.

Any support for a Bernstein thread under Composers?
Would it be hijacked into Bernstein the conductor?

Will do; just need a bit of time to collect some thoughts for an initial post.
