    Il Matrimonio Segreto

I remember seeing an excellent production of this at Sandler's Wells...either in the late seventies or early eighties, the band being the London Classical Players but I can't remember the conductor.
But I do remember it being great fun with an enjoyable score by Cimarosa.
Daniel Barenboim recorded it for DG, but I think we really could do with a new HIPP recording. Someone like Christophe Rousset at the helm would be just fine, in my opinion.

Is it the same libretto as Rossini's 'cambiale di Matrimonio'?

No, the Cimarosa work was based on the Colman/Garrick play The Clandestine Marriage, with a libretto by Giovanni Bertati. Rossini's was based on a play by Camillo Federici, libretto by Gaetano Rossi.

        Wikipedia dixit.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
