Is it just me? The soloists are almost inaudible in places - particularly in their lower registers - against the organ.
On further listening, the whole music balance seems very, very odd.
I imagine the College chapel must be a tricky place to set up in?

Compare the Sheppard in the Allwood CE with this?

The announcer at the end said there would be another 'archive' CE next week....as opposed to the website which suggests a live broadcast from Keble.
          Anyone know?

The Radio Times listing says Archive Broadcast from L'pool Met.

I would be a little surprised at a live broadcast from an Oxford college next week, as Full Term ended last weekend. Students would have to hang around for well over a week to do the broadcast.

              Also, Keble broadcast quite recently.

Also, the choice of music for the Keble service is definitely Easter rather than Passiontide! 'The strife is o'er'? Oh no it isn't!

Looks like a mistake by the Beeb.

A search on "keble college broadcast evensong" turns up a listing which puts the Keble Eastertide evensong on April 4th, in Easter week, although when I followed the link it incorrectly assigned Keble to March 21st. So it looks like a mistake on the website.

Be that as it may, Keble are coming round rather quickly - they last broadcast less than four months previously, in December.

Yes, was a bit baffled by all that..........?
Now, not sure what to post for next week!

And Robert Quinney is credited as Organist. Who is now DoM @ New College, so......sitting in, or....what?

...no, he'll just be playing the organ, sharing duties with the organ scholar. Maybe he'll be doing the Widor Organ Symphony mov't...quite taxing.

If you scroll through the Keble thread in December you’ll see mentioned that a second Evensong was recorded at Keble at the same time for broadcast in April.
Wise economy IMO. A new Evensong and not archive, as is Eton’s.
