    Two programmes in which the focus is on the music of Brett Dean.

    Sun 10 April - Discovering Music, 5pm

    Sara Mohr-Pietsch talks to Brett Dean about his work.

    "Brett Dean has quickly established himself as one Australia's foremost musicians and composers. His most recent opera, "Bliss", with a libretto by Amanda Holden inspired by a story by Australian writer Peter Carey, will be broadcast on Radio 3 next weekend."

    Sat 16 April - Hear and Now, 9pm

    Tom Service presents the broadcast premiere of Brett Dean's three act opera Bliss, based on the novel by Peter Carey.

    11.50pm Brett Dean: Komarov's Fall
    It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

    I have to say that I was less than impressed the first time this SMP-BD talk was broadcast, with the talk/information itself as well as with the music played.
