        Some interesting stuff this evening with the Mary Halvorson track looking like the stand-out. I have been musing about buying this trio record although decided to wait until she released a new album by her sextet. I wasn't a fan to begin with but she requires careful attention as the "way out-ness" of her playing is very subtle. It is wonderful the way that she sometimes de-tunes her guitar to produce a weird effect. You can sense the influence of her teacher Philip Catherine in her playing yet my overall impression is of a misaligned Jim Hall.
