I'm not sure Rubbers can manage all-day buttie any more... Nonetheless Severn View Services does sound romantic. I imagine the room rates at their Travel Tavern are pretty reasonable too.

Well I am happy to try run Rubbers's pass to the line.

Reminiscent of Trinh-Duc's UNBELIEVABLE between-the-legs pass last weekend - I take it everyone saw it?? I shall endeavour to be the Imanol Harinordoquy to your François Trinh-Duc, Rubbers. There - I bet that's a phrase you never expected to hear me say...

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Tempting though that is, I would still prefer the bhajias. And I don't know if I can handle another Newbridge gal in my life, right now

I'm afraid I already PM'd Caliban who is busy working on a P. Unless bts feels strongly...?

Ice and a slice of lime? And, Bombay Sapphire or Plymouth? Very nice. OK, we look forward to Caliban's puzzle... although I will be away for a while. Pity the one who gets a Q

Cheers! About to have a Pimm's myself.

What P unites musical sons of Florence, Cremona, Hamburg and Halle among others?

OK, thought it might be Hamburg. Soft Machine!! No, it is to do with violins, possibly

                          Well, I do like these:

Como una ola de Fuerza; Canti di vita e d'amore; any of the later vocal stuff (easily available on Amazon).

To these ears, Nono is harsh yet lyrical, modernist yet communicative, and always powerfully expressed. A bit of an unsung hero I reckon. Radio 3 has done him a great disservice over the years, in no small part because of his radical politics.

                            Sorry rubbernecker (and all),

Hopelessly behind the times (we are now on P) I am still ranting about N and Nono...
