    Cacti? And "former prickles"?? Ex-thorns?

STOP LAUGHING, cloughie and give us a clue!
How about the bush with red berries popular at Christmas.

Graham Nash? (Of Crosby, Stills and The Hollies)

So a trio of Willies? Smorgasbord!

          I think it's:

          Willie Walton.
Willie Russell (who wrote J,P,G,R & Bert)
Graham Nash (who was nicknamed Willie by Ms Mitchell).

All correct spelling Willy? or Willie? who cares they sound the same.

Ferney an X or something - there's a bit of discretion with these tricky letters I've learnt!

I think I've done an X before: I seem to remember spending nearly an hour sorting one out only for someone to get it within 2 minutes! So I'll sort out a Y for tomorrow - bedtime now!

I'm not so sure about the grammar, but, by 'eck, cloughie, you're very oblique!

                  Nice challenge all the same!

                  Onwards and upwards....

Why do we do this? Because we must! We have no choice. It is obligatory. It is a duty.

After all, if we didn't do this, who would? The Alphabet must be associated.

Ours is not to reason Y. To do, or die, ferney!
                  Pacta sunt servanda !!!

that's what I keep asking myself. poor old alphabet - it never asked to be associated

I think I was trying too hard with W - it was really quite straightforward

Indeed, and the fact that Graham Nash was nicknamed Willie by Joni Mitchell completely slipped your mind!

'Je n'ais pas Oblique!' should've been 'je ne suis pas oblique!' - pardon my franglais!

Or maybe "je n'ais pas le foggiest"

Don't worry, my French is so rusty it has corroded through!

                            Certainly better franglais!

(Oh well, it'll be quiet on AA this weekend I think, three major rugby matches!)
