Tapiola, you're like a dose of liver salts.

Rhapsody is CORRECT, as is your reasoning.

Well done. Wasn't that difficult, was it?

We had some fun though. Ffion turning up on that porn site had my wife and I weeping with laughter

Really enjoyed the Prelude in the Tony Palmer film. Watching her inner intensity and rapt concentration and feeling made it for me. I was quite happy with Gielgud.

Strange how the answer always seems obvious - - - - in retrospect.
          Well done indeed, Tapiola!

I could do with some cleansing this morning after the of the weekend. A good conundrum, though tortuous to this brain.

I cannot guarantee any salacious digressions from the "S" to follow but we can live in hope

OK, a quick and dirty "S".

Which S wrote a symphony that wasn't, a textless choral work and a concerto that dies?

                Scriabin?

Sorry, not Scriabin, though I can see your reasoning.

is "dirty" part of the clue?

Not Suk. The Symphony in question is a numbered one. A further clue, this person's final symphony (NOT the symphony in the original conundrum) is the subject of considerable dispute.

Not really, though parts of the symphony certainly sound that way.

I mentioned dirty primarily with regard to the poor maligned Ffion.

Shostakovich and The Homeland Hears for chorus and tenor soloist with wordless chorus might be a candidate, but am clueless about the other two.

Not Shostakovich though we are in the right part of the world...

I don't know if this is true, but Suk's grandson, the violinist Josef Suk, apparently thought about forming a trio with Yo Yo Ma and Felix Kok
