Anyone else found Matin Jarvis on their Wiki travels? Born in Ebbw Vale and founder of the Darwin Symphony Orchestra!

(Nothing about revelatory suites, alas. )

Oh for Fux's sake! I can't get anywhere with this!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Oh; I missed the second half of the Wiki entry: apparently Mr Jarvis spent a considerable amount of time studying the Bach solo 'cello Suites to come to the conclusion that they were composed by Mrs Bach!

... should've stuck to reading the Just William stories, if y'ask me!

indeed. He postulated that the cello suites were written by Anna Magdalena:

So can anyone wrap up in accordance with the Anna law? (Missing her. Wonder when will she be back? )

What did I originally say? " ...but sorry the D has taken so long. Sometime you get an idea and try to develop it but it just doesn't work out, so you have to go back and choose something else"

Ladies and Gentlemen, there will now be a short intermission while the Calibrain tries to construct an E.

So in the hope of enticing a lurking Norfolk Born and Anna back, here are two exchanges from last weekend's Corrie omnibus (I'm a week out, having been away) which amused me... and one of which is not without relevance to this august Forum (or maybe both? The first one suddenly makes me think of some of the more interminable political ding-dongs on Platform 3.. )

                              ..

Ken: Really Dierdre, could you be more petty?
Dierdre: I dunno, I'll give it a go!

                              ..

Steve: (with horrified look at radio) What are you listening to?!
                              Ken: Shostakovich
                              Steve: Bless you!

You'd have got good money that Dmitri Dmitrievich would never feature in Corrie. Just shows you...
