The first one suddenly makes me think of some of the more interminable political ding-dongs on Platform 3.. )

Ken: Really Dierdre, could you be more petty?
Dierdre: I dunno, I'll give it a go!

            ..

Steve: (with horrified look at radio) What are you listening to?!
            Ken: Shostakovich
            Steve: Bless you!

You'd have got good money that Dmitri Dmitrievich would never feature in Corrie. Just shows you...

Maybe that nice Tony Warren is really Angle, of fond memory Caliban

Still some dental work to do, I'm afraid Cloughie!

Emanuel Ax - prof at Juilliard : check
Emmanuel Krivine - music director of the Luxembourg Philharmonic : check

But... the first two you mention are wrong.

the Calibrator was also looking for a woman (gnarf! gnarff!!) - I expect he was dreaming of Emanuelle... or Emmanuelle Haïm

Out of my depth, as always cloughie - plus with Cali you're never sure if it's a key signature, or a well-known note in Fronch, etc etc

                      Or even Emmanuelle....

Yes - Emmanuelle Haïm, founder and director of Le Concert d'Astrée: check

Despite vinteuil Swanning in at the last moment, Cloughie's tenacious work has richly earned an F I think.

I've only ever done one unconventional one, I think!
